No horse in IKEA meatballs in the US, store says
Mon Feb 25, 2013
Everything is food somewhere, even us. I personally wouldn't eat dogs or cats but it's pretty sanctimonious to tell others what they should and shouldn't eat, especially if you're eating animals.
One perk gone: Yahoo says no to telecommuting
Mon Feb 25, 2013
There are times that you need to be side by side but I think telecommuting does increase productivity. A company could creatively lay out an office so that half of their employees are telecommuting in a rotation.
The flu hit American workers hard in January
Fri Feb 22, 2013
I took 3 days off for the flu. The first time I had it in 35 years.
Mall bans screaming kids from food court
Thu Feb 21, 2013
I think irresponsible parents have influenced this decision. I've seen parents talk obliviously on their cell phones while letting their very young children do as they please. Most parents are protective of their children but some couldn't care less.
Stop calling yourself old, says a new study
Wed Feb 20, 2013
I think it depends on what your opinion of being old is. If you don't think there's anything wrong with it then why would it give you a body image problem?
Suspect in South Florida manhunt found dead
Wed Feb 20, 2013
Switzerland does not have an army like we do but an armed population. Almost every Swiss citizen is armed yet they don't kill each other like they do here. Correlation does not imply causation (except maybe when someone has an agenda).
Homeless man on returning engagement ring: I was raised to be honest
Sun Feb 17, 2013
What I find sad is that people are so surprised by this. The majority of homeless people are not dishonest nor are they criminals. They way society treats homeless people, now that's criminal.
Horse slaughtering legal in US, but public won't bite
Sat Feb 16, 2013
Horses act like pets because they're treated like pets. Cows, pigs and chickens are sweet and affectionate when you treat them like pets too. I knew someone that had a milking cow they never intended to slaughter. They treated it like a pet and it was very friendly and cuddly.
Health reform hands states surprising weapon against abortion
Thu Feb 14, 2013
It's more about controlling women than it is about caring about life or people. If pressed many of those with anti-abortion views do not want women to have access to birth control either.
More women using morning-after pill, report finds
Thu Feb 14, 2013
I think an unplanned pregnancy costs a lot more money than birth control. And it isn't only loose women wanting to prevent an unplanned pregnancy that are using birth control. Before birth control was widely available it wasn't uncommon to see families with 10 children.
